A Composite Image for Tech Market

Tech company Advion hired us to photograph the expression CMS for their marketing team this past winter. While working with the client's limited time frame, we used a special reflective plexiglass and multiple exposures to provide a uniform background and detailed shadows. Many of the labels were added or altered in post-production, along with duplicating the product to show two different versions of this innovative technology.

Watch Tech in Operation

A central goal in the marketing of technology is to make the equipment easily comprehensible to the client. This can include how the product is made, how it is used, and unique benefits to the technology. For Kionix Inc., we incorporated tech photography, video, and models to showcase the device in action and the lab setting in which it is used.

Taking on the Retail Market

Attention to detail is key for retail market photography, and requires careful construction both in front of and behind the lens. For this LixTix Natural Lip Balm shoot, we chose to utilize an engaging background that reflects the elegant, organic simplicity of this particular product. Additionally, a shallow depth of field throws part of this background out of focus, giving the image a look of greater depth and dynamism.

Surface Reflections for Tech Photography

Through the use of a specialized light table and lighting equipment, we control highlights, shadows, and reflections to give greater dimension to any product. Specifically with technology like the MCCI Catena 1910, a surface reflection below the item gives a simple outer design an additional element of dynamism. Visit JonReis.com for more examples of how we can help your retail or tech product become a market success.

Aviation Anthropology

Today we're celebrating 175 years of photography with World Photo Day! Jon's Aviation Anthropology series has been developed over 25 years of exploration to depict the culture of aviation through visually compelling compositions. Reis says his favorite part about photographing this project is the surprise of walking around hangers, and never knowing what he'll stumble upon next. Famous fine art photographer Charles Harbutt declared, “I don’t take pictures, pictures take me” and Jon Reis's work reflects this view. Fine art pieces are available for purchase and can be used to decorate your home as well as celebrate your appreciation for local art.
